Yesterday I ( m27 5' 5" 140 lbs white, topical acne meds, drink sometimes (not during this), weed rarely, no smoking, no other drugs, this happened in Bermuda) went cliff jumping and the first time I jumped off the probably about 20’ high jump I landed in the water slightly weirdly and my chest hit the water in a not ideal way. It stung and I had a red mark but it wasn’t bad enough to stop me from doing the high jump again and the medium jump a bunch more times. I was having a very good time. Anyways when I got home it was still hurting so I googled it and I realized I have some of the symptoms-the spot hurting more when I deeply inhale, twisting my body makes it hurt more. Something that I haven’t seen in the symptoms-when I go from a laying position to a sitting position hurts. I iced it last night. I still feel it this morning. It isn’t searing pain or anything just like “o that’s unpleasant and annoying”. I know there’s not much to be done about rib issues but I wanted to see if anyone thought anything of this just to be safe. One article I read said if it’s broken the paint will get worse in coming days. I do not have shortness of breath or anything like that. I’m also in a foreign country on vacation for three more days so I would really like to avoid needing medical attention I just want to not be totally stupid. Does this seem serious or just let it heal on its own?
