L3 lumbar radiculopathy

43 male, 5ft6in, 165lbs. Diagnosed with L3 lumbar radiculopathy and recommended physiotherapy which I've started. The pain is mostly in my thigh but travels down to my knee and calf at times, I'm wondering if there is any way to relieve the pain as it becomes unbearable at times. Going to my local doctor is not possible at the moment due to the long waiting time. Any advice would be greatly appreciated
