Hello r/askdoctors per my title question heres my stats:
I'm 32, Male, 175lbs, 6'0 tall, white/hispanic mixed, no past medical history, no current meds, generally healthy.
Per this current photo https://imgur.com/a/dF8lPUv taken on Sunday 6/18, I'm worried I may be having a delayed reaction to a bug bite, possibly spider or mosquito.
On Tuesday of last week (6/13) I was in Mexico visiting my family (cities of Guadalajara and Tlaltenango) and got what I thought was a scrape but after I noticed the scrape I felt a mild fatigue (it was 100 degrees every day) so I ate food and drank extra fluids and took a nap and felt better after.
However, Friday (6/16) before my flight i felt a strange sensation where the right half of my body from shoulder to foot felt very mildly tense and shakey. I had no choice but to board my flight since I was already in line at the tarmac, and figured I would be screwed if I stayed behind in Mexico.
Immediately upon return to Los Angeles I had my mom take me to the ER that best matched my insurance and was there all night. The doctors drew blood and ran an xray and ekg. They said all my levels and tests came up normal/negative for anything fatal or extreme. They gave me some high dose tylenol and discharged me. I spent all yesterday resting and felt ok. But this morning when I woke up, while I don't feel that tight sensation I generally feel a tiny bit achy and sore, like my body is fighting off a cold.
Also the photo https://imgur.com/a/dF8lPUv shows where the potential bite could have been. It doesnt hurt, doesn't itch, hasn't bled, hasn't had puss, but that discoloration like a bruise just started this morning, that wasn't there this week and that has me worried.
I'm going to follow up with my primary care physician this week ASAP (I can't get in till tomorrow) per the reccmmencation of the ER staff but I'm still a bit scared and nervous about everything.
Could I get any sort of extra opinions on the matter. Willing to provide any other details missing.
