Is this a subconjunctival hemorrhage or something more serious?

Yesterday, at around 3pm EST, I was taking a shower after work and thought an eyelash got in my eye. I was doing what I normally do to get it out and the feeling wouldnā€™t go away. I looked in the mirror and it looked like my eye was irritated but wasnā€™t anything crazy. After 30 minutes of trying to get this eyelash out, I wondered if i had just broke a blood vessel. I didnā€™t do any googling because i thought the feeling would just go away. My partner went to get some eye drops for me and I used those 3 times.

It has, since then, gotten worse. When I woke up this morning, it was matted shut with gunk on my eyelids and in my lashes. It not feels like thereā€™s 8 eyelashes in my eye, rather than the 1 i thought yesterday. It is now ā€œpainfulā€ rather than uncomfortable, constantly having tears come out, and my skin around the eye and the top of my cheek are sore from rubbing it so much.

As Iā€™m typing this, I remembered that I did accidentally have a lot more caffeine than I realized yesterday. I had a Celsius drink on my lunch break (thinking it was just sparkling water) and a Ghost drink (knowing it was an energy drink) after work.
