Summary: Would you as a physician appreciate it or like if your patients gave you a thankyou card for your service?
I went through a lot this past year & my current doctor has been the best doctor I have ever had. Very patient, very understanding, kind hearted, knowledgeable, etc. I’m a 25F but I’ve always felt comfortable, even though my doctor is male. I have lots of respect for him. However, he’s graduating out of residency in a couple of months. Which means he more than likely won’t be at the medical facility that I attend for primary care. I have atleast one more appointment scheduled with him in May.
I’m really sad you guys. Like, teary eyed sad 💔. Idk if he’s going to be staying in my county for work or if he’s going to leave to a different county to work in. If he gets stationed out of county at a different medical facility, it might be too far for me to drive to so that he could remain my doctor. I live in Los Angeles County. It’s already huge here, so the next counties over are like over an hour away.
Idk if he would even continue to accept my current insurance. It’s currently Medi-Cal. So, idk if he’d go to work with the big boys or not.
I knew that he was going to graduate soon, since all of the doctors I had the last 3 years did the same & moved on. I just didn’t realize that it’s finally approaching that time again, since I’ve been visiting since last July .
I feel like a dork for being this emotional, but it’s really hard to find a good trusting physician these days. Especially one that listens to you & tries to understand & doesn’t just dismiss you as having anxiety or throwing prescriptions at you right away. He actually has tried to help me with certain situations & has helped me a lot.
I thought about bringing my doctor a thankyou card for being a great doctor & a kind person.
Definitely!! It Rarely happens but is really nice
