29M, 6ft tall, 190 pounds, and white, taking prilosec currently.
I have a stomach ulcer ATM, I've had it for about two or three weeks now, and I'm taking Prilosec/making doctor's appointments to hopefully resolve it.
But why do they cause such awful bloating? Even when I'm eating foods that are very easy on my stomach it feels like the second I swallow my stomach just starts bubbling up and burning. And then for the next several hours I'm left unable to do much because of how uncomfortable and sometimes painful it feels.
I started taking Prilosec only a week ago, and I was doing fine the first couple of days but on the third day I was feeling so good that I had some chocolate (yes, I'm dumb, I'm super aware of that and paying the price), and ever since then it feels like the Prilosec just isn't helping.
Is it possible I have h. pylori? I had some similar issues back in 2017 but the tests for h. Pylori came back negative (although, I was on a ppi that my doctor gave me so I'm wondering if it was a false negative).
Can bloating be caused even without h. Pylori?
Additionally, I should note that this issue started after getting off my ssri and ADHD medication. I suspect the withdrawal symptoms stressed my body out enough to make me have a small ulcer... But then I had a drink and I did take some nsaids around that time. So I'm super skeptical of h. Pylori, but I have hypochondria so it's hard to not think I have it.
