I am a 33F, 5'6", 123lbs.
This past year I have been more aware of potential arrhythmia with my heart. I have felt little flutters before, but wanted to get input about it now today because I was sitting and all of a sudden my heart rate increased rapidly and felt like it was pumping very hard. It lasted about 20-30second. I had no pain.
I was relatively calm and relaxed in that moment too before if came on. In distant past I used to get chest pains, I would identify as anxiety, taking a deep breath felt like it would hurt too much in my sternum - doctor told me I had costochondritis as a teenager.
As a kid I was on a lot of asthma meds, and albuterol inhaler, as a teenager/young adults abused stimulants (sometimes cocaine, but mainly adderall) semi-regularly. All of which I no longer us.
I tend to have low blood pressure (runs in my family).
I have been under great deal of stress this past year -toxic/abusive relationship of two years and financial stress- but things are somewhat balancing out now.
my blood work has always come back fine. I work out two to three times a week, I eat a balanced diet (although I struggle with undereating from depression). I am very conscientious of my health as best I can be, I don't take any meds (except just started ketamine therapy). This past year I also found out I have a fatty cyst on a lymph node , which was mostly told was benign but no definitive answer and when I am stressed it hurts. (I haven't been able to afford furthing diagnostics)
I have been taking a preworkout (RSP amino lean) occasionally but not in a couple of days. I did this morning , did a lighter workout than I planned and then several hours later I took 15mg of ketamine for low dose therapy I just started (on day three).
Could this combo have caused the afib? Or do I maybe have something else underlying with my heart I should be concerned about due to my previous stimulant abuse and stress? Is an EKG/ECG a good idea?
I am going go stop taking the preworkout all together. the ketamine therapy is important to me, helping with my depression - this didn't happen any of the other days I took it, hence I deduce the combo is correlated.
