why did Pristiq cause a sensitivity to spice?
Post Body

Hey! I'm a male, 29, 180-ish pounds, white, and I was taking pristiq for about a year and a half but recently got off of it for good. I'm about a month off of it now, feeling fantastic.

But now I'm left wondering why it made me so sensitive to spices. I used to eat a moderate amount of spicy things before taking it and while I was on it I noticed my body couldn't tolerate it as much as time passed. It happened pretty quick too. I went from being able to handle da bomb and stuff with a million Scoville to not even tolerating Buffalo sauce. At one point even the pepperoni on a pizza was too much. But a month after getting off of it and I'm quickly building that tolerance back. My tongue can handle it, and my body digests it without much kick back.

I've looked this up a few times, even asked my psych, yet no one seems to know why.

Anyone here have a concrete answer, or even a good guess?
