Why was Sinestro after the Ultraviolet power? What makes it different from any of the emotional spectrum?

I know there were some comics stating that the power of the Ultraviolet Corps is what Sinestro was after all along, and not the power of Fear, but what makes the Ultraviolet power any stronger than any of the other lanterns? Did they ever state WHY he was after this power specifically?
