Texan looking to relocate to Chicago post election. Could use some help finding good areas?
Post Body

Hey everyone, As you can probably imagine I’m a bit stressed by this election result. I’ve been looking at moving to Chicago for a while now but it’s more serious than ever. Please help me search for areas to consider moving too.

What’s the most affordable areas? What’s the most LGBT friendly areas? What’s the most diverse areas? What’s the safest areas?

I’ll appreciate any feedback you all can give as well as any advise for planning/adjusting to potential chicago life. Thanks in advance.

Sorry you’re getting downvoted, it’s easy to say there’s no crime until it happens to you. We go out often but always keep our head on a swivel, we make sure to try to walk in groups, looking out for random people, etc. I felt a lot less safe in NYC and Toronto this year actually than anywhere in Chicago so far but all it takes is one time. I think the same can be said for most cities.
