I’m asking because it’s something I noticed as opposed to other large metro cities. Instead of well-off Black residents moving into northern neighborhoods with better amenities/QOL, they are instead moving out into the suburbs or choosing to stay in south side neighborhoods like Bronzeville or Kenwood. While it is true that the suburbs offers these things in abundance, why not move to areas like West Loop, Lakeview, or the Gold Coast? Usually when I see Black folks in these neighborhoods, they are often transplants or not from Chicago. What’s the reason for this?
