Starting a new job downtown soon. Should I drive or take public transportation?
Post Body

Parking in Downtown Chicago is horrid. Iā€™m (F) trying to weigh my options about whether I should drive to work and pay for parking everyday or take public transportation. The idea is to save money but is it worth risking my safety?

For reference, I live very close to Jeffery blvd and the closest bus will stop on 71st and Jeffery.

Any thoughts, opinions/experiences and alternatives would be appreciated.

TIA.

EDIT: I love the responses so far. By safety I mean traveling the city alone in questionable neighborhoods as a woman if this helps.
