Not sure if this is a right place for this question. My MacBook Pro 14” M1 chip shutdown and stopped working suddenly when it was plugged in for charging (I was using Apple charging brick but the USB-C cable was from Anker). I was doing just light work like browsing and taking notes; left the laptop unattended for 30mins as I was doing some chores and came back to work and the laptop wasn’t turning on and also there was a burning smell coming from left side of keypad and left fan.
I have Apple Care and took the device to Apple Store Genius Bar for diagnosis and how bad the damage is. They said they’ll call in 3-5 days after diagnosing and giving me a quote. They might even replace logic board or the whole laptop which leads to data loss in both cases.
I have some school files, notes, pdfs that weren’t backed up. Just looking for any trusted/reliable Data Recovery and repair centers.
I came across Rossmann Repair Group but was looking for any local options just in case.
