Is hydrogen peroxide safe to use as a disinfectant?

I’m making cigarette paper from corn husks and I’m weary of mould and fungi. Would it be safe to use hydrogen peroxide as a disinfectant? My thinking is that it is safe because it would break down as it dried. Also it’s used in kitchens and agricultural equipment for cleaning.
