yesterday, Rachel Maddow reported on a letter sent to the DNC on behalf of Bernie Sanders, where he demanded that Barney Frank be removed from chairing a standing committee for Sec Clinton's nominating convention in July. the letter ends with a warning that if Bernie doesn't receive this concession, he will use his supporters to disrupt proceedings on the convention floor. this is yet another demand from the Sanders camp even after unprecedented concessions were made earlier to permit him to appoint committee members despite being defeated in the primaries.
why Barney Frank though? this is a man who has achieved far greater bank reform than Mr Sanders ever will and who had a strongly progressive voting record in congress including a 100% rating from pro-choice and civil rights groups. it's true that Frank has spoken publicly about his distaste for Mr Sanders and his campaign, but wouldn't it be wise to prove him wrong? an immature stunt like this seems to confirm Barney Frank's speculation that Mr Sanders is insufferable and unable to compromise to achieve positive results.
