Hey there! So, in my future vacation plan to tour the balkans, I'd like to know what everyday men's outfits look like. Why? Because I'd like to blend in and immerse myself in real Balkan peoples' everyday experience. I hate the idea of conventional "tourism" and seeing all the parts of places people want you to see. I want to see the real side of the countries. Can't do that without dressing the right way, right? Probably getting a haircut too, as I'm not sure how well-received a long haired white guy may or may not be. But first things first: clothing! Post some examples, or clothing selfies if you're in the area! Bonus points if you're Transnistrian - definitely planning to enter for a day. Let's see what you've got!
EDIT: Thank you all for your serious and not as serious answers. As you all probably have guessed, I'm an american - we really don't get out much. What might seem dumb/obvious to you is a legitimate question for me, so thanks! It's safe to say I'll keep all tracksuits, fezzes and turbans at home ;)
I can't stand the "USA is the best" kind of people as it is, so no problem! Haha. And honestly thank you for understanding a lot of my (and others) limited experience is through the american media. Again, what you all might see as dumb or arrogant I am legitimately asking. I appreciate it :)
Transnistria not being tourist friendly is what I was referring to. As to being arrested, I've been told there are signs that say not to take pictures of certain areas. Small, subtle nuances like that are, again, what I'm referring to, in Transnistria.
You ever try googling "average american attire" and seeing the weird shit that shows up? How am I supposed to know what's legitimate and what's not?
Can you explain a little on why you feel this way?
What you read is ignorant american trying to get real answers.
You can get lost googling and getting misinformation.
On this sub I've seen mixed views on Transnistria and I don't want to spend time debating what it is and isn't. If you feel that it isn't balkan, who am I to say you're wrong?
My whole point in asking here is to get REAL views and opinions. I'd rather make an ass of myself here than in person, in the area, and end up being arrested for something I could've asked ahead of time. I'm aware it's not exactly tourist friendly.
You're absolutely correct in that I'd have to learn the languages of the area (at least enough for basic communication) - TRUST me, I know it's more than just clothing.

Honestly? I haven't really been more than four hours away from my home in the last four years. So, really, you're on the money in that I don't get out much. But I'd like to change that.
