Sourdough Discard is more active than Sourdough Starter (Fed)

Post Body

Hello all! Last week I started my adventure into sourdough baking with King Arthur's recipe (unchanged/unaltered.)

At first the starter was quite active but on day 6, it's rise has been slower compared to the jar of discard I use for testing recipes (can't waste the opportunity for experience!)

What could be the reason? Could I feed the starter with the quite active discard?
