Struggling to get an even browning on these cookies

This is my second attempt at making butter cookies and they were absolutely delicious. My only issue is that the bottom has a nice light brown colour but the top of the cookie looks so pale. The oven instructions for this recipe was to only use the bottom burner. Any tips will be appreciated :)
