Buy New Oven or Fix Old Oven?
Post Body

Hi there! My gas oven has decided it no longer recognizes any temperature that isn’t 475F. Want to heat to 300 for macarons? 250! 425 for scones? How about: 250. 500 just to see what will happen? 550!

Since it’s running both hot and cold, I’m not sure that calibration is the issue? But I’m curious if anyone has had similar issues and can speak to what it took to repair it. If it’s going to cost more than a couple hundred dollars to fix, it’s probably time to get a new one anyway — this one came with the house and is at least six years old but probably older. And I wouldn’t mind having a double oven ;)
