I’m baking brownies, but how can I make them come out chewier?

Post Body

That’s the entire thing. I have some Betty Crocker fudge brownie mix and the recipe calls for vegetable oil, but I plan to use butter as a substitute.

How can I make them chewier? I’ve seen some stuff about mixing certain ingredients together beforehand, but this has them all mixed together already. Is there anything I can do or should I just stick with the butter substitute and call it good?

Edit: I substituted butter for the oil and it somehow turned into a cake. I don’t know how this happened. It’s a cake now. I knew I was bad at baking but good lord.

Edit 2: It has a cake consistency but like… it’s a brownie…? Y’all I don’t know what I’m doing but I made brownies that look and feel like cake. I don’t think I should bake anymore.
