Hi there, I'm pretty new to baking but I have been just binge watching and binge reading tutorials. One thing I've noticed is that after I'm done with the cake, when I cut into a slice, it's not very nice looking. The icing from the dam kind of goes into the layer and so the filling doesn't really reach the edge and it's just a knot very finished look. Anybody have experience with this? How do I keep the functionality of a damn but improve the look and professionalism of the filling in between the layers when you cut into it for a slice?
