My cookies are balls ... and hard

I hAve made this recipe half a dozen times and it is always great. I made them today and accidentally used 2tsp double acting baking powder instead of 2tsp baking soda.
They came out basically the same balled shape they went in as and once cooled, I'm pretty sure you could use them as a baseball substitute.
I still have half the batter. Is there a way to save it? I have added the link for the recipe if that helps.
