Dry milk question

I saw that you can toast dry milk powder and get the same flavor as brown butter for cookies and i always spend so much time browning butter for mine that i thought it might be a good hack so i went to the store and bought some, but when i got home i realized i actually bought instant dry milk. Can i toast that with the same results? Or should i cut my losses and get some dry milk powder
