Chocolate chip Cookies fiasco

So I literally at a loss. Save for Ann Reardon’s tip on adding extra flour, I am at a loss. I’ve mixed Preppy Kitchens recipe like 3 times and followed his directions about chilling the dough for a few days and then baking it, the cookies still a spread. Once, I’ve even had a giant cookie form. Does anyone have a recipe that has worked for them? Am I doing something wrong?
