A weird thought about pastry cream vs cremeux.

What even is the difference between a chocolate pastry cream and chocolate cremeux? I've made both, and I would have to say the cremeux is more intense and thicker in texture, at least the one I made anyway. But is there a specific difference? I'm thinking about making a chocolate filled croissant, provided I can recover my pastry motivation after a long winter.
