Before I go ahead and purchase some gear, I wanted to know what could be expected out of it. I’ve read countless articles and videos talking about these huge flaws to cheaper rigs that include DSLRs and cheaper end mounts.
I’m looking to capture some larger Diffuse Nebula, maybe some bright galaxies, nothing to small or faint.
I’m looking to purchase a SVbony 503, a 70mm scope with a focal length of 420mm, a Star Adventurer GTI, and an Astro-modded Nikon 5300 from Astrogear. Then of course the other necessities.
My main question boils down to what I need to change in this list to ensure the ability to take good exposures at a beginner level. I just want to make sure that I don’t bog myself down in quality issues or technical skills that are going to pose a challenge from a beginner standpoint.
