I'm using an app on my cell phone to find objects in the night sky for purposes of astrophotography. However when I place my android phone on top of my telescope tube it reports "strange magnetic field detected." I'm told it's the earth's magnetic field being attracted to the steel telescope tube and then being squeezed together inside the tube. Is there a way to dial that down or limit it? I'm wondering if copper tape and/or Faraday tape inside the phone case I'm using to attach the phone to the telescope tube might help?
