As an astrologer, do you take into consideration lots? (Lot of fortune, lot of spirit, lot of Eros)

Why do the lots hold significance? Giving my chart as an example, how would I read these lots, is it by houses primarily or would I look to aspects to planets? (I.e. having lot of Eros conjunct moon, what is significance?)
