How to ask for what i want without being disrespectful?

So i don't see providers often, actually been a long time. But i was reading in a few posts that reason we see providers is not to just get off but for other reasons, maybe to get a connection or first time,etc. However, i look for a provider to have what I don't get at home. I am not looking for a connection, but also do not want to be disrespectful and get what i normally don't. Any advice?
