How do you feel about some feminists saying that all sex work is inherently exploitative, non-consensual, and damaging to sex workers?
Post Body

I sometimes see other women who think that sex work can never be consensual, and they view all sex workers as victims and all clients as predators.

I'm a queer woman and have been considering hiring a female escort (I'm still undecided), but my main reason for asking this question here is just because I know I hate it when other people try to speak over me or act like they know better than me about situations that I've actually experienced that they haven't.

And so I'd really appreciate hearing any answers / thoughts from you directly on this and whether you agree or disagree

I think the concept left unsaid (though implied since are mentioned concepts like UBI) is the necessity of work itself. We are all cogs in the capitalist machine, and we are all coerced - whether consciously or not - to either work or to perish.

No doubt that many people would choose not to do sex work if they could provide for their basic needs and obligations through other means. Many would also choose to do sex work if the same conditions applied though!

It's not that we're coerced into sex work, it's that we're collectively coerced into employment
