Do you prefer to "take the lead" with a new client, or do you prefer they make the first move?

I can only imagine meeting a brand new client is a stressful thing (maybe I'm wrong here). When you're meeting a client for the first time, do you prefer to be in charge of how the first appointment progresses, or do you want the client to take the lead? Aka... after the small talk and getting to know each other, how do you prefer to break the touch barrier?
