Excuse my naivety or ignorance... I’m somewhat new to seeing an escort... but what is the point of leaving the donation on a dresser/somewhere etc and not handing it over?

Is it more of a legal protection (for client/escort/both), a cultural thing or just something done because historically it’s been done that way? Reason I ask about “cultural” is because I notice these threads tend to be US-centric while my regular escort and I are European (my home country).

Wonder if you could chime regarding procedures and whether it changes between 1st timers (unknown) vs regulars (known)

For context, my usual procedure is to hand over the donation straight away upon arrival (people probably screaming at this, lol) and then I go shower. Been like that since the 1st meeting. I have wondered whether I should be using an envelope, but she hasn’t said anything about it. I’m a bit of a nervous client so I try to be aware of etiquette/rules etc. Maybe it’s an age thing (she's early 50s) and maybe she’s more trusting? It’s an in-call at her place if that helps with context. Small guest room so it would mean awkwardly going around her to place the money somewhere.
