Hello again everyone, I had posted a while ago asking for help choosing between Melbourne, Adelaide, Brisbane, and the Gold Coast for study abroad; Melbourne was nearly everyone's choice based on my short "about me". However, someone suggested that I also consider Sydney. I have since done that, and it is on the table in my mind now (Brisbane and the GC are off the table, and Adelaide is probably going to be my backup choice). I will repost my little self-intro spiel below, and I ask that you guys match me up with either Melbourne (UofM / Monash) or Sydney (UNSW / UofS) based on what you think I would like better. Thank you in advance for all of your help! It means the world, for real. :-)
- I am from the northeastern part of the USA, so I am used to a wide range of weather and enjoy having some weather variation in my life. I also tend to tolerate the cold better than the heat (my experience is with humid heat), but I would not really be there during the actual summer unless I went to UNSW I think.
- I consider myself to be a foodie and would like to experience Australian cuisine whilst having access to a variety of food options from different cultures.
- I do not care about the nightlife scene as I turn into a total homebody after dinner. I also am not looking to get in on what's trendy at any given moment.
- I generally enjoy the vibe and energy of larger cities, but since I am from a small city I do find all the buzz to be a bit overstimulating at times.
- I am much more interested in city exploration than nature exploration due to my interests in multiculturalism and languages.
- I try to lead a lifestyle that is a mixture of laid-back and fast-paced, though it usually ends up being more of the latter.
- I enjoy academics a lot, but I am not hunting for the most prestigious university or anything. At my home school, which is rather small, I enjoy that the interaction with faculty is more personal and that the class sizes are smaller.
