I’m currently in the process of applying for jobs and there is a great opportunity in APS that is based in both Newcastle and Canberra. (Other locations too but I’ve since ruled those out as a no)
Due to bad experiences living with others/roommates I’d ideally prefer to live/rent alone so affordable rent is a huge key factor obviously (please keep in mind my fortnightly pay would be around the $2.2k mark)
Do you find that Newcastle is cheaper to live in and easier to find and secure a rental? If you were renting alone would you lean toward Canberra or Newcastle?
I prefer a relaxed lifestyle, not too fussed about beaches. I would say I’m focused purely on costs and rental accessibility. Is the rental crises as bad as Sydney? Are landlords bumping up rent as much as they want whenever?? I should add I am 22, so do look forward to some night life aswell!
What suburb do you recommend in Canberra and Newcastle that won’t result in my selling off my kidneys to make rent
Thankyou! I am finding it super hard to decide between the two if I were to secure the job
