Why is CSR sugar (raw, white, brown) so much more expensive than the equivalent ColesWorth product?
Post Body

Hey all,

As title states... 1kg CSR Raw Sugar is $2.80. The same equivalent product from ColesWorth is $1.80 or so. So nearly 1.5x as much !

Why is this the case? Anyone know the reason(s) ? I note that CSR comes in a wax lined paper package and ColesWorth is plastic ... but surely sugar is a type of agricultural product which is highly inelastic (i.e. low elastic value) as far as elasticity of production / returns to scale, goes ?

Thanks!
