How do Americans who work on Mondays manage after NFL Sunday drinking?

I know the NFL is by far the most popular sport in the US and given the majority of the games are on Sunday where people tailgate, drink at the stadiums etc. how do Americans who are football fans and enjoy drinking watch the Sunday game and go to work on Monday without a hangover or feeling a step behind?

To me it seems Saturday would be a more logical game day so people who enjoy drinking and partying would have a buffer day to recover for work. This would also drive up alcohol sales since people would not need to worry about working with a hangover.
