A little context: my Dad is getting his Green Card, and my Mom already has hers. I would like for them to learn basic U.S. history as they move towards qualifying for U.S. citizenship, and for them to understand a little bit about what makes this Country a special place.
They are working-class native English speakers... although they are getting olderโI would consider them "hale seniors" at this point. So I think they would be fine with material written for adults, as long as the language is not overly complex.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
