Has there been a backlash to sleepovers?

Post Body
I feel like almost on the daily I see some sort of tweet go viral about how parents don't let kids have sleepovers, or have some sort of insane rules (the latest one was about a parent being angry that the host parent had a friend over).
It the danger of sleepovers seem wildly disproportionate to actual dangerous incidents you hear about... especially when more often than not those incidents come from within the family.
But... do you feel that there has been a strange backlash against sleepovers?
