What’s up with your chocolate over there?

Post Body

I’m from the U.K. and not long ago was on a flight to Singapore where they gave out American chocolate in the flight - it was Hersheys and I had never tried it before so took about three bars to last me the flight. I was really looking forward ti it because the bar looked quite big and I’d seen it popularised in movies and such.

Anyway, I tried it and had to spit it out… It wasn’t sweet, it was almost bitter. It tasted like vomit and I promise I’m not exaggerating. Chocolate where I’m from us usually smooth milky and sweet, pleasant to eat.

So my question is… what’s up with that? Is it just Hersheys that is awful or do you make chocolate differently…?

Would be interested to hear people who have tried chocolate from other countries to compare.
