Hello, this is my first post on this sub!
I'm 23 and will be moving to the US (southern Pennsylvania) this summer for work and study. As I am getting ready to experience another country, I have a few questions:
-What do I absolutely need to know about campus life? Any faux-pas that I need to avoid? Must-do's?
-Is the public transportation network (buses, trains, etc...) good? I won't have a car but I might want to travel around during my time off. I could also rent a car but that would be an expensive thing to do on the regular.
-What are some places that you would suggest I visit in PA? I love discovering beautiful landscapes and be in nature but I also like city life. I will be working on a university campus too, so I'll have plenty of time off during Christmas break, winter break, etc... to go travelling in other states.
-What would be the less expensive way to get around for long-distance travel (say, if I want to go to Texas or California)?
-What are some states you would recommend for a young woman who wants to see the sights and also enjoy vibrant cities/meet people? I love warm weather and the ocean, hiking, national parks, etc...
Feel free to let me know if you have any specific advice. I'm not scared of travelling alone and this is not my first time living by myself in another country (I've lived in Australia for a year before), but I still need to be prepared.
Thank you so much for your help! :D
