An undergrad that's been working in our lab for the last 6 months has just found out she got an interview in a few days for a PhD (UK, so recruited to particular project, not US grad school type thing). She's asked if I can give her a mock interview in preparation, but the only window we can schedule is in about 3 hours. I can fire off the usual 'why do you want to do a PhD', 'what drew you to this particular project' type, but I'd be interested if anyone has any other good ones?
She's a great candidate. It's a physical science, experimental project, and she wants a real grilling to "prepare for the worst" (as she put it).
