Hello Ask Academia! I am fortunate enough to have received my first job offer today: VAP at a state school with a 4/4 course load. I am a finalist for a TT position at a state school (3/3 course load), but my campus visit isn't until next week. The job offer letter from the first school indicates they would like to know within the next day. Is it reasonable for me to ask them to extend the decision time frame by a week so I can see what happens with the TT job?
