Hi everyone,
I wanted to confirm a question about starting a Ph.D. in Canada. I was recently accepted into a Ph.D. program in Canada and I'm unsure about starting the program due to personal reasons. I wanted to enquire about whether any scholarship, stipend, or teaching monies earned in the process would have to be paid back if I didn't finish the program. Is that correct?
Additionally, I wanted to enquire about how such a decision might affect admissions if I were to return at a more opportune time. Specifically, would dropping a program have an influence on future applications? Would a better course of action be to do one semester and apply for a leave of absence?
Thank you!
