Post Body

Hi everyone!

I submitted a manuscript to a Springer journal, and I'm curious whether the information automatically added in ResearchSquare regarding its status is true / more accurate.

Status in Springer SNAPP currently is:

Submission under peer review 11 May 2024

While in ResearchSquare, the latest update shows:

Editor invited On 16 May, 2024

The journal is "Scientific Reports", and I'm wondering if the article might be still sitting at an Editor's desk, metaphorically speaking. Since they claim to give a relative quick first decision (~23 days), and we are overdue for that, I got concerned.

For reference, the manuscript was previously sent to a different Springer journal, which uses the old manuscript tracking system, which was a bit more detailed in this sense:

Decision Made 8th May 24

Editor Review Started 6th May 24

Initial Manuscript Review Started 3rd May 24

Editor Assigned 1st May 24

Submission 19th Apr 24
