As editor handling a manuscript, how to deal with reviewers asking to cite their articles?

Post Body

Recently, I was accepted as a member of an editorial board. I am currently handling four manuscripts. Besides the incredible amount of invitations I have to send in order to have two reviewers accepting, when the reviews are submitted, I was surprised to see that many reviewers ask for their papers to be cited. Even more, their papers are far from the topic.

How do I deal with this issue? I do not want the papers be rejected, or to delay the peer review process, but also the suggested articles should not be cited.
