Do journal editors see past submissions/rejections?

Curious to learn if academic editors see previous articles you submitted before deciding to desk reject or pass onto peer reviewers. I think it would be best to try to aim high/as best as you can within being delusional, but there’s only so many journals in my field. Would having past desk rejections in the submission centre mean more desk rejections are likely?
