Do journal editors see past submissions/rejections?

Curious to learn if academic editors see previous articles you submitted before deciding to desk reject or pass onto peer reviewers. I think it would be best to try to aim high/as best as you can within being delusional, but thereโ€™s only so many journals in my field. Would having past desk rejections in the submission centre mean more desk rejections are likely?
