Articles vs. Letters to the Editor in Science Journals
Post Body

Working on faculty evaluations for the academic year, and I see a colleague has published a letter to the editor in a science journal (pretty far afield for this particular colleague's discipline). I'm out of my wheelhouse -- how heavily should this be weighted vs. a peer-reviewed article? What's the level of peer review, acceptance rate, etc., versus what would be typical at a humanities journal?
