Do I need a decree of nullity?
Post Body

To begin, I was raised catholic and was confirmed in the church. I then fell away from my faith and ended up marrying a non catholic for all the wrong reasons in a non-denominational Christian church. I was then divorced. To my understanding, it was a non sacramental marriage because the archdiocese bishop’s blessing was not received, and I was a catholic marrying a non catholic. That being said, do I need a decree of nullity if I want to marry or join seminary in the future? I am confused because to my understanding, a decree of nullity is for sacramental marriages recognized by the church, and that is not what I had. Any guidance in this matter would be greatly appreciated. God Bless.
