I am a cradle Catholic making a long journey back to the the good graces of the Church. Right now my life does not line up with Church teaching on a handful of issues. Prior to making a concerted return to the Church I became involved with my current girlfriend (raised non denominational Protestant, baptized, and has a burning desire to join the Church) and we have a beautiful 2 year old daughter together and are expecting another on the way. The obvious issue occurring here is that we are unmarried and living in sin while we raise our daughter and soon to be newborn. To make matters more complicated, my girlfriend is divorced from a prior marriage.
My question is, where do we go from here? I know that we need to go the through the process of an annulment in order to be properly married, I just don’t know what to do in the mean time. I feel a great weight and guilt knowing that our current lives go against the Church, but from a practical sense I don’t necessarily know how to remedy it. Also I’d like to note our daughter was baptized in 2019 when born. Our intent is to have our second baptized as well, all things permitted. Thank you all and God Bless!
TLDR: Currently living in sin with divorced girlfriend, 2 year old daughter, and expecting another. Practical advice to remedy our lives in line with the Church. Please help!
