Fathers, I've struggled many times with my faith but ultimately come back to the Church each time. I've struggled with seeing the treatment of people that I've personally known and loved by local Church officials and Catholics regarding issues of homosexuality, abortion, and birth control but understand the Church's teachings here. I had a hard time coming back to the Church after several of our local sexual abuse scandals. But now the stories of children's graves at the residential schools in Canada are coming to light, and it's making me question a lot of the Church's missionary practices.
How do I see the Church as a force for good in the world when it feels like there's always another scandal being reported, where we learn of some new horrible action that's been done in God's name?
